Which Restaurant is Right For You?

After you’ve decided to join the Western Sizzlin franchise family, you still have one more decision to make. We offer two outstanding business models; a traditional family steakhouse and a full service buffet. Which one can you see yourself owning?

The first Western Sizzlin family steakhouse was born in 1962. From the beginning our operating philosophy was simply to offer attractive restaurants in high-traffic locations that serve great steaks at a great price. It’s a philosophy that has helped us grow to more than 100 restaurants in 19 states.
Our family steakhouse operation addresses the simple fact that beef is the number one meal preference holding a 35 percent share of the market. Beef demand has increased 20 percent since 1998 and is now over 60 pounds per person each year in the United States.

  • Each of our steakhouses offer a minimum of ten different steak choices for our customers.
  • In addition, we have chicken and seafood entrees and our buffet and bakery sections appeal to everyone including vegetarians.
  • Our extended menu captures valuable lunch business in addition to dinner crowds, creating dual mealtime opportunities under one roof.

In 1996, a new restaurant concept was folded in to the Western Sizzlin family and in 1997, our first full-service restaurant buffet opened. That first Wood Grill Buffet has gone on to become the highest volume store in sales in the entire Western Sizzlin system.
Our commitment to quality shows in every item on the buffet at the Western Sizzlin’s Wood Grill Buffet. Our award winning buffet showcases more meat choices than any competitor. What makes a Western Sizzlin Wood Grill Buffet so successful with our guests?

  • Our unique, blue ribbon recipes set our buffet items apart from the competition.
  • Our specialties include homemade items such as meatloaf, chicken salad, slow cooked pot roast and signature desserts
  • Our buffet bars are overflowing with flavorful hot and cold food selections; including carving stations, homemade casseroles, fresh salads, country vegetables and hot fresh baked bread and desserts.

The company strives to maintain its long-term vendor relationships to keep food costs low. Western Sizzlin’s distributors deliver food products throughout our system ensuring both Western Sizzlin and Wood Grill Buffet franchisees receive maximum benefits.

Franchise and total start-up costs for each model do vary, as do franchisee requirements. To find out more,
